📃 Static Legal Pages

There are three types of pages every app must provide.

Legal pages required for your app

Every mobile app published in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store must include three key static legal documents to comply with legal and platform requirements. These pages are not just formalities—they are crucial for transparency, user trust, and platform approval.

You can use and provide the links from your website or we can natively host them on our platform. In most cases it is easier to use your existing links and add what is needed.

Here’s a quick overview of the three required pages:

1. Imprint / Legal Notice

This page provides legal ownership information about the app publisher or organization. It typically includes:

  • Company name and address

  • Legal representatives

  • Contact details (email, phone, etc.)

  • Registration details (e.g., commercial register info, VAT ID)

In some countries like Germany, the "Impressum" is legally required for all commercial digital offerings. Usually you can just use your website's imprint without any changes.

2. Terms of Service (ToS)

The Terms of Service define the rules for using the app. They outline:

  • User rights and responsibilities

  • Acceptable use policies

  • Limitations of liability

  • Conditions for account usage and termination

  • Licensing terms (if applicable)

They help clarify expectations for both users and providers and can be key in resolving potential disputes. Usually you already have them on your website. But in most cases you need to add some details as users have more rights, but also responsibilities. We can provide you with templates and some general advise, though we do not provide legal services. If you want to be on the legal safe side, we recomment to consult with your lawyer.

3. Privacy Policy

This document explains how personal data is collected, processed, and stored. It should clearly describe:

  • What data is collected (e.g., names, email, usage data)

  • How and why this data is used

  • Who it is shared with (e.g., analytics providers)

  • User rights under GDPR or other applicable laws

  • Contact info for data protection inquiries

A transparent, accessible privacy policy is a requirement under regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and others. Of course we do provide full transparency with regards to the data we process and store. As a Berlin-based company with european roots we have a strong focus on strong user privacy.

Find more info about that on the dedicated pages on analytics and privacy in general.

How it works with tchop

With tchop, you can easily integrate these legal documents into your app. Each app must link to static, publicly accessible URLs for these three pages. These links are typically included in the app's settings or info menu, and in some cases, required during the app submission process.

You provide the content—we handle the integration as well as the app store deployments.

If you need help generating or updating your legal pages, or if you're unsure about local requirements, feel free to reach out to our team. We're happy to guide you through the process or connect you with legal resources.
